We need young people at tomorrow's (Sunday, July 27th) Progressive Democrat event at the UAW Hall, in Lincolnshire. It starts at 3:00 p.m. Come and ask our politicians your questions.

The Equal Rights Amendment is not dead, only a few more states, and it goes to Congress.  We want our young women to have equal rights in the workplace and not live in fear of harrassment at home or at work.  We want every citizen to have the right to vote, something the right-wing is trying to stop.  We want campaign finance reform so that not just the super-rich decide our fate.  We want students to have a great education at a reasonnable (or no) cost.  We want you to have loans that you don't pay back the rest of your life.

Turn off the lies of the mainstream media; join us in our fight to push back against our politicians and tell them we won't vote for them unless they work for us.  But we must begin to turn our organizations over to young people.  We'll be there to help, but it's your country now.

Just come to the event; live music; food; fun and politics.

OVERTURN CITIZENS UNITED

Our first order of business a national after January 1st seems to be an amendment to overturn Citizens United. Of course, it's not easy, but if every person requests every group they're a member of to put a proposed resolution on their site with a petition, and explain to the readers the dangers of calling corporations, people, millions of Americans will begin to see what must be done. Resolutions with petitions can be signed by hundreds and given to congressmen, city councils, state legislatures, universities, religious groups, and more. We just need to get the movement going faster before we run out of time. Although there are numerous groups that are working on it as we speak, including Move to Amend, We the People, Senator Bernie Sanders, and more, the general public does not yet truly understand the significance of this move by the activist Supreme Court to hand over this country to the corporations.
